At 40 sqm plus an enchanting 37 sqm private terrace overlooking the pool, the light-filled Green Suite is Maison Polanka’s largest accommodation.
Here, an original contemporary painting by Denis Laurent provides a striking contrast to the Art Déco furnishings that provide a fresh and airy feel to the spacious suite. The bed textiles are made by Khmer designer Sirivan Chak, as are the Angkorian flower curtains.
Charming antique and folk objects that we have collected along the way are displayed and used in the bathroom, bedroom and terrace, such as the painted suitcase that was used a century ago by Chinese immigrants or the rattan honey making basket hung on the wall, used by indigenous villagers.
An old coconut tree day bed with a mosquito net and a mat are installed outside for afternoon naps or to spend a night under the shimmering stars. The Green Suite can accommodate a couple with a provision for an extra bed. When the Maison was our family home, it used to be an open space and living room.
