The Orange family suite is a 2-bedrooms suite with 2 attached open-air terraces located in the main house, the “Maison”. The total area is 77 sqm. Both bedrooms are connected through stairs but also have their private entrance, terrace and bathroom.
Built like an artist’s studio, the upper master bedroom is the only room with traditional, locally made tiles – smooth and cool to the feet. You enter the room through a corridor and a wooden staircase. Furniture is Cambodian 1950’s precious wood furniture and the Art works are from the owners’ collection: an impressive photo of Bagan temples taken in 1981 by Christophe Loviny, a beautiful lacquer on wood painting from Lim Muy Theam and an abstract piece from Denis Laurent.
On the first floor, the twin room is an intimate haven for friends or children. The twin beds can be joined and become a king size bed for a coupe or a single guest. It has two large windows facing the tropical flowers and greenery; on the floor lies a Tibetan antique wool carpet brought back by the owners from a trekking expedition in Nepal. The silk fabrics are by Carol Cassidy, a master weaver based in Laos, and a dear friend of the family. The shower is made out of terrazzo. The room has works by Burmese artist San Naing bought from Thandwe in Arakan state, Myanmar as well as paintings by Cambodian artist Chhim Sothy. The contemporary painting displays a family and is by Denis Laurent.
